Tanagra is an idyllic wine farm close to McGregor and part of the Robertson Wine Route and Route 62, producing unique wines in a boutique wine cellar and stylish Grappa and Eau de Vie in a boutique distillery. We also offer luxury guest-house accommodation and memorable breakfasts. Come and join us for wine-tasting under the magnificent old wild fig tree at the old homestead and/or stay with us in one of the apartments or cottages.
Tanagra is situated in the McGregor – Robertson valley at the border of the Klein Karoo (Western Cape / South Africa). It is surrounded by vineyards, indigenous wild fynbos and mountains and adjoins the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve.
It is the ideal place for the wine and nature lover seeking an authentic and peaceful countryside experience in a naturally elegant and laid-back farm ambience.
Relax under the giant wild fig tree at the old homestead, watch and listen to the birds, explore the farm (dam, vineyards, Keizer’s river, wild fynbos), take a leisurely walk on the farm or a more serious hike in the adjoining Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, go biking (various mountain bike trails available in the vicinity), explore the quaint village of McGregor or just sit with a good book and a glass of wine and chill out in your luxury accommodation with it's private verandah on a lazy afternoon, or relax under the amazing Karoo stars at night.
