Tanagra - Unwind under the Karoo stars with a bottle of wine

Accommodation

We offer two apartments (Bottlebrush & Gumtree), three cottages (Garden cottage, Hill cottage and Faraway) and a Loft Studio, each sleeping 2 persons/adults (Faraway sleeps 4 persons).
 
Four units are located around the old historic Tanagra homestead and the boutique wine cellar and are let on either a self-catering or a B & B basis. The Hill Cottage and Faraway Cottage sit in the midst of fynbos away from everything and everybody and are self-catering only.
All units have been carefully restored and tastefully furnished with the intention of providing a naturally elegant and stylish, yet authentic farm ambience. All boast scenic views on the mountains and/or the beautiful farm dam from private verandahs. 

There is a pool and sun/deck loungers/chairs in the garden. For the more adventurous the majestic farm dam invites you for a swim. 
Accommodation units are let as either self-catering (budget option) or B&B (premium option). The Hill Cottage and Faraway, because of their distance to the main farm, are let as self-catering only. 

Guests have the choice between keeping privately to themselves (all units secure your privacy) or joining each other in the garden (and/or winery). 

Your hosts, Robert and Anette, will gladly introduce you to the farm and the area and will serve your breakfast (a sumptuous continental breakfast, for those opting for B&B) in the conservatory which is part of the old homestead, at a long table with panoramic views on the mountains.

McGregor is only a 5 minutes' drive away from Tanagra and offers a good choice of small and cosy restaurants with excellent food. There is also one restaurant (De Kaap, currently lunch only) in walking distance (10 minutes' walk) from Tanagra.

All units have:

  • a private entrance
  • a private verandah/patio
  • an open fireplace
  • a heater (plus warm blankets and hot water bottles for cold winter nights)
  • a fan
  • a hairdryer
  • a Hifi (tuner, CD/DVD, MP3 compatible) (only in Loft Studio, Garden Cottage, Hill Cottage, Faraway)
  • WiFi reception (not at Faraway)
  • a private braai (the Garden cottage, the Hill Cottage, Faraway and the Loft Studio have outdoor fireplaces,  for Bottlebrush and Gumtree there are mobile braais available)
  • private (undercover) parking
  • and are fully equipped (bed linen, bath towels, pool towels, and fully equipped kitchenettes with fridge, hot plates, microwave, tea/coffee facilities, crockery, cutlery, pots, etc.) 
  • tea/coffee, sugar, salt/pepper, olive oil, dishwasher liquid
  • a 'starter set' of firewood and firelighters (more available for a fee)
  • and are non-smoking
