Tanagra is now listed in The Greenwood Guide to South Africa.

Tanagra in the Media

"Some people just get it 100% right. Since they settled in South Africa three years ago, Robert and Anette Rosenbach have created an enticing haven in the Karoo, just 4km from the quaint village of McGregor. Their pretty collection of guest cottages has a magical simplicity, rustic but by no means rough, furnished and equipped with thoughtful stylishness. If you want to shed the accoutrements of the city with all its stress and materialism, this is the place to be. Go throughout the seasons - when the wheat is golden or the vines a verdant green, and if you are feeling up to a little Heavenly Chaos from the cellar of their charming boutique winery, sip a glass and watch the sun set."
(Country Life, October 2012)

"Four clicks outside McGregor on the edge of Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve you'll find a spot that ticks all the boxes for a home from home. Owned and run by Robert and Anette Rosenbach, the five two-sleeper guest rooms at Tanagra are perfect launchpads for a weekend's exploration. There are many reasons to recommend it. Firstly, to taste Robert's red wines, particularly his berry-packed, Bordeaux-style blend, Heavenly Chaos 2010. Secondly, when they came out from Germany a few years back, they brought a still and the result is a range of excellent eu de vie and grappa, including an unforgettable lemon distillate and a grappa made from the skins and twigs of Springfield's Life from Stone. Thirdly, if you choose the B & B route, breakfast is a continental-style feast of locally sourced meats, cheeses and Anette's home-made jams, preserves and other special things." (Getaway, October 2012)

"This is a bird-watcher’s paradise. Sit on your stoep gazing at the sunset with calls of the fish eagle in the background while sipping on Robert’s delicious grappa and eau de vie. Anette’s traditional German breakfasts are legendary; boiled eggs, cold meats, cheeses, an assortment of breads, fruit, fresh coffee… And if you love her homemade jams as much as we did, you’ll be glad to know a limited number of jars are available to purchase."
