Tanagra currently has 12.5 ha of vines in cultivation, mainly noble red wine cultivars.
Our Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz vineyards are older blocks, surrounded by fynbos and veld, and situated alongside the trails at our farm. They receive special pruning (Guyot cut) to grow grapes with highly concentrated flavours. From these grapes we produce handcrafted & limited release wines under the 'Tanagra' label. Winemaker in charge is Lourens van der Westhuizen (Arendsig).
Tanagra is member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative (BWI), which commits itself to sustainable farming and wine production. Substantial parts of the farm are now under nature conservation to help maintain the biodiversity hotspot of the local Cape winelands.
