Tanagra - Hand crafted wines in a spectacular valley

Tanagra currently has 12.5 ha of vines in cultivation, mainly noble red wine cultivars (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinotage) and white Colombar (known to grow especially well in the area).

Tanagra is a boutique wine cellar producing only small amounts of high quality and unique red wines under the 'Tanagra' label. Winemaker in charge is Lourens van der Westhuizen (Arendsig). Apart from the Tanagra wines most of our grapes are delivered to the McGregor Winery.

In October 2012 Tanagra became a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative, which acknowledges our commitment to conserving the unique Cape winelands, whilst implementing environmentally responsible management practices both within the cellar and on the farm.
