Our Wines We use traditional methods like natural yeast and whole berry fermentation to create handrafted wines typical of the terroir and microclimate of our farm at the border of the Klein Karoo. The grapes are all harvested and selected by hand. Our wines are all wild-yeast fermented (and, for the red wines, are fermented on the whole berry) and matured at least 12 months in (neutral) French cask. These limited release wines are grown on the deep, red Karoo soils as nature intended, with minimal interference.
Our flagship wines are our Single Vineyard wines which come from the series of vineyards we named 'Trails of Tanagra', as they are situated along our farm trails: the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and the Cabernet Franc (first vintage 2014). Our Carah is a Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend. Unusual for the area is our Blanc de Noir, made from 100% Cabernet Franc -- crisp and dry, salmon colour and with intense strawberry flavours. Our Heavenly Chaos continues to be an ever popular, easy-drinking and somewhat lighter red-wine blend. In 2017 we released our very first Single Vineyard Colombard, from selected older (20 year old) vines. Delivery can be arranged nationwide in South Africa. Outside South Africa our wines are available at Wynkiste (Germany & Austria), Vin Africa (Europe), Isanga (Germany), Premium Trade (Switzerland), CTW (BeNeLux), Newton Wines (UK), Winecask (Namibia) and Hedemanns (Denmark).
